South Carolina Exit Poll Results: Clinton’s Smashing Victory in South Carolina
“To South Carolina, to the volunteers at the heart of our campaign, to the supporters who power it: thank you”, Clinton tweeted after winning with nearly 73 percent of the votes, reported Al Jazeera.

“We, tonight, have started Hillary Clinton on her way to the White House”, said Representative James Clyburn, the state’s most powerful black Democrat, as he introduced Mrs Clinton at a victory rally.
There are no indications Clinton will campaign in Minnesota before Tuesday’s caucuses but her daughter, Chelsea, had events planned in the state today and Monday.
Saturday, Clinton received about 75 percent of the votes in the SC primary election.
Because Democrats apportion delegates proportionally, Sanders is simply hoping to stay close to Clinton in the South. But he’s focusing most of his attention on states in the Midwest and Northeast, including his home state of Vermont. It also represents a moment of personal redemption for the candidate and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, after her 2008 defeat in SC to Barack Obama in a tough battle from which her campaign never recovered.
But even Sanders supporters noted Clinton’s narrow wins in those two states may have stymied any “momentum” the campaign wanted to gain heading into Super Tuesday, when more than 10 states will vote.
It is Mrs Clinton’s third victory in four contests, after wins in Iowa and Nevada.
SC was the first contest in which a majority of the electorate had been made up of minority voters, and Clinton won black voters handily.
Sanders attempted to spin his loss during an appearance on CBS’ “Face The Nation” by pointing to the Clintons’ history in the state. She lost to Mr Sanders in New Hampshire. Clinton also ran better among women than men, but walloped Sanders among men as well.
Exit polls show it was a landslide victory over Vermont Sen.
“When we come together, and don’t let people like Donald Trump try to divide us, we can create an economy that works for all of us and not just the top 1 percent”, Sanders said.

The victory confirmed Mrs. Clinton’s recovery from an uneven performance in early contests. This week, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie began campaigning for Trump. “Now it’s on to Super Tuesday”, Sanders added, according to Al Jazeera, clearly not willing to give up on the presidential race. “Now it’s on to Super Tuesday”.
