Oconee County Emergency Services say the crash killed all four on board the plane.

The Federal Aviation Administration received a mayday transmission at 3:15 p.m., Williams said.

Stephens County Sheriff’s Office found debris scattered more than a mile ranging from 6-inch to 3-foot pieces. The men – two of which have been identified as former Tippecanoe Valley football coaches Charles Smith and Scott Bibler – were flying from Warsaw to Clemson, South Carolina, to attend Saturday’s Notre Dame-Clemson game. He said no one survived.

Officials are trying to determine the tail number of the plane. Both sides said they also heard the crash happen as well.

Ground crews had been searching the banks of the lake and boats with sonar capability had been scouring the area, Williams said.
