If true, North Korea will be the sixth country after US, Russia, France, China and United Kingdom which carried the successful test of the hydrogen bomb.
South Korea raised military readiness to its highest level at locations near the loudspeakers and turned the broadcast on Friday morning.
“We urge South Korea to exercise restraint”, British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said during a visit in Japan.
“No matter what happens, [all parties] should adhere to the objective of denuclearization of the peninsula and maintain peace, stability in the peninsula”, Hua said.
He says, “We want them to abandon any nuclear activities and comply with the global commitments and obligations”.
It may take weeks or longer to confirm or contradict the North’s claim that it successfully tested a hydrogen bomb, which would mark a major and unanticipated advance for its still-limited nuclear arsenal. The broadcasts irritate the authorities in Pyongyang, and North Korea has previously threatened to use force to stop them.
When South Korea briefly resumed propaganda broadcasts in August after an 11-year break, the two Koreas ended up threatening each other with attacks that brought them to the brink of war.
A male announcer could be heard from South Korea telling North Koreans that Kim Jong Un, the leader of their impoverished country, and his wife wear clothes costing thousands of dollars. Another said Kim’s signature policy of jointly boosting the economy and nuclear capability “has no realistic value”.
The August broadcasts were in retaliation for North Korea injuring two South Korean soldiers with mines.
“On the first trip that I made to China when I raised the issue of the climate negotiation that resulted in China joining with us, I spent most of that trip and most of that time on North Korea”, he added.
Leader of the Democratic minority, Nancy Pelosi of California, promised Thursday there will be strong bipartisan support for the legislation tabled by the top Republican and Democrat lawmakers on the House Foreign Affairs Committee that would target access to hard currency and other goods and step up inspections of North Korean cargo. A congressional source said it was expected as soon as Monday.

According to experts hydrogen bomb also called the thermonuclear bomb can be 1,000 times or more powerful than atomic weapons dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II. In the past, similar broadcasts have angered North Korea. “North Korea may be the stated reason, but Chinese strategists will see it as a move against China to limit its nuclear deterrence”. B-2 and B-52 bombers are capable of delivering nuclear weapons.
