South Korea’s president warns of more provocations from North
Pinkston said, “I think they will keep the lifeline in place for North Korea”.

The test triggered anartificial natural disaster with a magnitude of 5.3, near the country’s main nuclear site in north east. Yun Byung-se, South Korea’s foreign minister, said this weekend that North Korea’s nuclear capabilities were growing considerably and that new sanctions were needed from the global community. Frustrated South Korean officials state how countries should “play a very constructive role to come up with a very effective and strong sanctions resolution”.
President Park will ask for multi-party support on pressing security matters, such as the upcoming deployment of the USA missile defense system THAAD, especially in light of the heightened tension over the North’s fifth nuclear test and the regime’s continued threats.
“North Korea has declared that it has miniaturized its nuclear warhead, so its nuclear-tipped missile is no longer a mere threat or negotiating tool but an actual urgent threat facing us”, she said in her opening speech.
The main opposition party also suggested that the government dispatch a special envoy to the North to ease aggravated inter-Korean ties, but the president sternly rejected the idea.
While the fears of World War 3 may be rising in response to North Korea’s nuclear tests, it appears that both South Korea and the United States are committed to finding a diplomatic solution before any real conflict could break out.
However, opinion is split over whether Pyongyang really has made nuclear warheads small enough to arm its missile units, and even if so what the range of such a nuclear-tipped missile would be.
Some reports say the North Korean government may already be planning more testing.
Since Pyongyang’s first nuclear test sent tremors worldwide, it has been hit by five sets of United Nations sanctions over its atomic and missile programs.
Seoul, Washington and their allies subsequently have vowed to apply more pressure and sanctions on Pyongyang in the wake of its latest nuclear test, the second this year.
“North Korean diplomat Choe Son-hui went to Beijing last Tuesday, and slipped out sometime thereafter – it is quite possible that the goal of that visit was to privately inform Chinese comrades of the planned test”, he said.
China’s environment ministry began emergency radiation monitoring along its northeastern border with North Korea, the state broadcaster CCTV reported on its official Sina Weibo microblog.
Japan’sDefense Ministry recently submitted a request for an increase in its budget that includes funds to expand the coverage area of its Patriot antimissile systems to better defend against North Korea.
Four days after North Korea’s fifth and possibly most powerful nuclear weapons test, the US Air Force responded with a show of force on Tuesday, flying two powerful B-1 bombers over South Korea. He said the US government is working with America’s allies to form a response.

“The nuclear test is a reckless and anachronistic act that threatens the peace and stability of the Korean peninsula and the lives of 75 million people”, the organization said.
