Federal Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Musleh as he tried to board a bus to NY. If he is convicted, Musleh, 18, could face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.

Documents from the United States District Court of the Southern District of IN show law Musleh began watching videos from a leader of Al-Qaeda IN the Arabien Peninsula on Youtube IN high school back IN 2013.

Musleh came to the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in June when authorities say he bought a one-way plane ticket to Iraq and later Turkey.

School administrators and authorities tried to dissuade him from extremist ideology, but Musleh later posted a picture of himself in front of an ISIL flag.

Around the time he booked his bus and plane tickets, he also researched terror targets in IN and how to create explosives. Court documents say he then planned to join the group. Musleh had also made contact with suspected ISIS members.
