Southern Oregon University closed its main campuses Wednesday and Eastern Kentucky University cancelled classes through the end of the week after threatening messages were found at both campuses Wednesday.

Last week, the Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon was shut down after an armed man killed nine students and their teacher in a mass shooting. Ashland High School summoned police after a potential threat and students were held in school until the threat was cleared.

Pending any further development in the threat, campus will reopen Thursday.

In response to the threat, University officials announced that all classes and activities will be canceled on Wednesday, October 7th and the campus will be closed to all non-essential personnel.
