Southwest adds nonstop flight from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles

The new route will debut August 7, with one-way tickets starting at $159, the Dallas-based airline said.

Travelers coming out of Pittsburgh International Airport now will an alternative option to fly directly to Los Angeles, thanks to Southwest Airlines.

There are approximately 64 daily departures from Ontario offered by 7 air carriers. OneJet plans to add four more nonstop destinations later in the year, which have yet to be determined.

Southwest Airlines will begin offering direct flights from San Diego to Milwaukee, it was announced recently.

Officials at a news conference Thursday said the flight will operate once daily each way.

Earlier this week, Southwest confirmed its intent to participate in a U.S. Department of Transportation frequency allocation proceeding allowing U.S. airlines to operate scheduled services to Cuba.
