A Southwest Airlines flight bound for Chicago successfully made an emergency landing at Oakland International Airport Wednesday after encountering a landing gear issue. It was in a holding pattern for a few hours to burn off fuel, Southwest officials and Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer said.
But the plane landed safely without issues. The plane, which landed without incident, was met by emergency responders that followed it down the taxiway.
No cause has been given for what is wrong with the plane’s landing gear.
Additional details have not yet been released.

Southwest and the airport did not immediately respond requests for comment. “With everything we do, Safety is of paramount importance and we appreciate our Customers’ patience while we work to get them to their final destinations for the holiday”.
