Fishing at STORRIE LAKE was good using salmon peach PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout. Carp and bluegill are both slow to fair. Steelhead anglers are enjoying a few of the best catch rates of the season, and local angling is getting about as good as it’s going to get before it freezes.
At NAVAJO LAKE, the north side of the Pine Main boat ramp and the surrounding no wake zone has reopened to anglers. The bass action is fair on reaction baits or live minnows, and more fish are showing on nightcrawlers and plastics.
Fishing on the JEMEZ RIVER was fair to good using worms, salmon eggs and copper John Barrs for trout. Meanwhile, smallmouth bass are being caught on stickbaits fished near shore.
Anglers have mostly been catching fish either drifting roe or yarn or backtrolling plugs and bait below a diver. Live mullet, cut bait and blue crabs take fish. The Taft Chamber of Commerce Trout Fishing Derby will be held Saturday, November 21 in Lake Evans. There will be 2,000 pounds of trout planted for this event and a $1,000 grand prize for the heaviest trout with payment down six places.
WOOLLOMES LAKE: Few reports.
SUCCESS LAKE: Very light fishing pressure. Fishing on the CEBOLLA was good using egg patterns, worms and salmon eggs. A fair bluegill bluegill bite on wax worms or crickets, and the odd catfish has been reported.
