After the attacks on Friday, where explosions could be heard from inside the State de France during the France vs. Germany friendly, it looks like the two federations are playing it safe as the manhunt continued on Monday.

“After consulting with the relevant bodies and the Spanish national team, the URBSFA made a decision to cancel the match”, the federation said in a statement. His whereabouts are now unknown.

However, officials are taking no chances ahead of tomorrow’s match, with armoured police having been stationed inside the stadium during the French team’s training session today, with everyone on high alert following the attacks in Paris.

The centre, under the interior ministry, recommended the cancellation of the match after the terrorist threat level was Monday raised to three, or severe, for the whole country, representing a possible and credible threat, according to a statement.

La Roja were due to play the Red Devils in Brussels but it was confirmed in the early hours of Tuesday morning that the game would not go ahead.

“In view of these exceptional circumstances, we can not however take any risk in security matters for our players and supporters”, it said.
