Spain, UN condemn Davao attack

Earlier, the US, UK, Canada and Australia warned its citizens to exercise extreme caution when traveling to Mindanao including Davao City.

The Chinese embassy in the Philippines has released a security alert for Chinese citizens following a terrorist attack that killed 14 people in the country.

It noted “an ongoing threat of terrorist actions and violence against United States citizens and interests overseas, including the Philippines”.

“He stands with the Government and people of the Philippines”, the statement read.

Foreign Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr. expressed appreciation for the expressions of sympathy and solidarity from the global community.

China on Saturday expressed deep condolences to the victims of a terrorist attack in Davao City Friday and reiterated its opposition to “terrorism in all forms”.

“We stand by the authorities in the Philippines in their efforts to provide stability and security for their citizens against this threat”, it said.
