A large explosion, possibly caused by a vehicle bomb, rocked an upmarket part of the Afghan capital on Friday, near to foreign embassies and their affiliated guest quarters.

The group’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said suicide bombers targeted a foreign guest house in Shirpur and that fighting was ongoing. Afghan officials have, however, not confirmed any casualties.

All Spanish Embassy personnel have been evacuated from the site of the attack, Rajoy added.

The attack occurred in an upscale neighborhood where some prominent Afghan officials and foreigners live. However, unconfirmed reports on Twitter suggest at least two people have been killed in the attack. As per to the reports, gunshots were heard soon after the explosion, and the Taliban has claimed the responsibility.
