Barcelona have been top since a 2-1 away win at Malaga on January 23 but three consecutive losses during April, a drop in form last seen 13 years ago, allowed Real and Atletico the chance to close the gap.

A final-day win over Granada saw Barca clinch a back-to-back league crowns, beating Madrid by just one point.

Enter Suarez, who scored four goals against Deportivo, four against Sporting Gijon, one against Real Betis, two against Espanyol and then three against Granada as Barcelona ran the table to win La Liga.

“We have had a good second half of the season and now we will work hard for these 14 days so we can perform well in a match that will be very difficult”.

The forward also revealed his disappointment at Barca’s early exit from the Champions League, as Spanish rivals Real and Atletico Madrid progressed to the final.

“Six leagues from the last eight speaks of the cycle of success we continue to maintain and have to try to extend as long as possible”, added Barca captain Andres Iniesta.

“I’m happy for all the players and what we have done”.

Now, Barcelona’s season, regardless of the outcome of the Copa del Rey final against Sevilla on May 22, rests on whether it can handle the pressure at Granada.

Suarez’s goals have been key factor in a 24th championship for Barcelona after a three-way tussle with Real and Atletico Madrid.

“We must give even more value to the league title we have won”, Neymar said.

Napoli gained direct entry to the Champions League by finishing two points above Roma, which won, 3-1, at AC Milan in the final round.

In the process, Luis Suarez also ended up as the top scorer in the Spanish La Liga with a total of 40 goals, ahead of Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Benzema which goes to show his class as a goal scorer of extraordinary talent.

“If you win the League, you can’t say it’s been a bad season because it’s the trophy for consistency”.
