Speaker Paul Ryan declines to support Trump
Mr Trump stressed that he had a good relationship with the OH governor and was willing to consider Mr Kasich as his running mate.

“But I was very, very surprised”, he continued. In less than 24 hours of the results, two of his rivals — Senator Ted Cruz from Texas and Kasich “withdrew from the race to the White House, thus clearing his pathway to the nomination.
Shorb said he believes the rise of Trump is the sign of a new Republican Party emerging, one that connects more with the working classes.
Several senior Republicans said on Wednesday they would not back him, with some saying they would prefer to vote for Mrs Clinton.
The Democratic frontrunner also took to Twitter to urge supporters to donate in the wake of Trump’s victory.
So far, four previous GOP presidential nominees, namely George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, John McCain and Mitt Romney had announced that they wouldn’t attend the GOP National Convention in July when Trump would be formally nominated. I think that’s just downright unsafe.
The problem and disregard for the process came this morning when Trump Spokeswoman Katrina Pierson said during an interview with CNN that if Ryan can’t support Trump, who has been a Democrat until just a few years ago, then he’s unfit to be Speaker.
Mr Ryan, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, said conservatives wanted to know if Mr Trump shares their values.
The speaker called on Trump to “set aside bullying, set aside belittlement”. “Does that mean you’re going to vote for Hillary Clinton?”. “Let me make that clear”.
“As Maxine has said, we’ve got to work hard and win big here in the California primary to get ready for the general election”, Clinton said. “They have been treated so badly for so long that it is about time for politicians to put them first!”
Although Mr Trump had effectively sewn up the nomination regardless of what Mr Kasich chose to do, his withdrawal does have one benefit.
When Trump proposed indefinitely banning Muslims from the United States in December, Ryan responded that such a move is “not who we are as a party” and in violation of the Constitution.

“Paul Ryan said that I inherited something very special, the Republican Party”, he continued in another.
