Speaker Ryan says Republicans need to show people a ‘better way’ (AUDIO)

Ryan’s compliments of Trump were in line with the themes of his speech. “My state know I’m insane about Donald Trump, and I think he is the right man for this time”, Fisher said.

“All of these problems in America, they’re fixable problems”, Ryan said. “Meanwhile, what choice has the other party made, in this incredible year filled with so many surprises?”

“Have we had our arguments this year?”

“I know this was a tough primary, a tough election, but this is a binary choice-Trump or Clinton”, Ryan said.

U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster, R-Everett, from Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District, complimented Ryan for shaping what he described as a ground-up agenda that House Republicans have supported. “So what we have here is a really good leader, a good conservative, a knowledgeable conservative, a real Reagan-like happy warrior joining this ticket”. “And liberal progressive ideas have done nothing to help”, Ryan said.

“A lot of us served with Mike Pence”, Ryan said of the IN governor. “We can do this. We can earn that mandate, if we don’t hold anything back”.

The Wisconsin Republican – who breaks with Trump on almost every significant policy proposal the presumptive GOP presidential nominee has put forward – hasn’t been shy about acknowledging his differences with Trump, in both style and substance.

Johnson announced at the last minute he would go to and speak at the RNC. However, the Wisconsin representative spent most of his 12 minutes on stage trying to convince Republicans at Quicken Loans Arena (and across the country) to unify by Trump and vice presidential nominee Mike Pence.

Paul Ryan’s speech wasn’t just the oratorical version of NyQuil, but it was also one big attempt to revise history in his party’s favor – and it failed big time.

“They are offering you a third Obama term brought to you by another Clinton – and we’re supposed to be excited about that?”

Although he said the election could not be won simply by bashing Obama, he argued that the state of the world under his watch was unacceptable.
