‘Spectre,’ ‘Peanuts’ signal box office rebound
Without giving too much away, the difference here for me is, this movie draws together all four of Daniel’s movies into one final story, and he completes a journey. “Peanuts” scored even better audience word-of-mouth than “Spectre”, earning an A grade at CinemaScore.

Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment’s “Spectre” will release in India on November 20 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. “James Bond- Spectre” is an worldwide hit, already breaking records everywhere before its United States opening this weekend.
The opening for “Spectre” is the second largest opening in James Bond history, only second to the $88 million that “Skyfall” got for its opening, according to UPROXX. Daniel Craig has publicly declared that this is his last Bond film and there is huge speculation as to who will be the next 007.
The Peanuts Movie opened in only 11 worldwide markets, and only grossed $4.6 million in them. Internationally the film brought in $117.8 million from 77 total markets, bringing its worldwide cume to an estimated $296.1 million after ten days.
Seventh and eighth place go to Burnt (estimated $3 million) and The Last Witch Hunter (estimated $2.7 million), and neither film is looking good.
On the surface, it seems like there should be nothing to complain about regarding this week’s box office.
Asked if he likes playing the British Secret Service Agent, he admitted: “I hate watching myself on screen, but I love playing James Bond”. If Spectre is to match Skyfall’s gargantuan $1.1 billion box office total, global grosses will have to carry it. “Peanuts’ is projected to end its theatrical run in the mid $100 million range”.
The actor’s fourth turn as James Bond easily outpaced a strong showing for The Peanuts Movie, which still thrived at $45 million in it’s weekend take.
What, if anything, did you see at the movies this weekend? That was the equivalent, in 2012, to $8.6 million.
Spectre has shot to the top of the USA box office but failed to match the success of the previous Bond film Skyfall.

“Everest”, a drama about a mountaineering expedition gone wrong, rounded out the top five, earning US$13.1 million. It kicks off the holiday movie season that will be punctuated with big franchises like “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2” later this month and Disney’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in December.
