‘Spectre’ Sets Box Office Record

But off the back of its British box office haul alone, it’s already being declared a rather sizeable hit.

Not only has Spectre been smashing box-office records, it’s also earned the title of having the widest spread release in Britain, showing in 647 cinemas and on 2,500 screens across the United Kingdom and Ireland. It’s become the first film in history “to cross $100,000 in terms of location average, or $105,000 from 47 theaters”.

BusinessInsider reports that the first email coming from Barbara Broccoli, daughter of James Bond movie series creator Albert Broccoli wished that Sony increase its $18 million marketing budget for the Spectre with bigger payments to the cast and crew for using its smartphones. According to The Wrap, Spectre beat out numbers for the global premiere of the highly successful previous James Bond film, Skyfall. The film is expected to take more money at the box office than Skyfall, which made over £710 million. A similar $5 million offer was allegedly made by Samsung, part of the $50-million marketing and promotional package offer from the South Korean tech giant which initially was $18 million.

In the Netherlands, Spectre grabbed 3.3 million Euro ($3.7 million), surpassing the record set by Skyfall and bringing its cume to $3.9 million including previews.

MGM chairman and CEO Gary Barber said that it’s “an incredible thrill” to see how James Bond continues to deliver such excitement to his fans.

“This record-breaking support from Britain audiences for what is our 24th outing is nothing short of fantastic”. Whether a potentially fleeting role in “Spectre” can make up for Heckler & Koch’s lost revenue and the blow to its reputation remains to be seen.

So don’t worry- Daniel Craig will be back for one more.

Skyfall had huge amounts of print gave to how it took Bond into a darker space, however, the danger paid off, and Craig will maybe go down in realistic legend as the man who reshaped the essential character of a decades-old establishment. He has that power and presence that James Bond needs.

Spectre producer Michael Wilson dismissed the Mexican deal at an emergency press conference in March and denied it had influenced the script. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE. As he gets to the bottom of the organization, he learns of a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he has been looking for, Franz Oberhauser (Christoph Waltz). But she’s had a transformation in recent years, and in the upcoming Bond film, Spectre – in theaters November 6 – she prefers if you call her a Bond woman.
