Speculation surrounds Van Gaal future despite Man United’s insistence that
Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville believes the club would be wrong to replace manager Louis van Gaal.

Ahead of the trip to Stoke, Van Gaal will address the media, suggesting the Old Trafford hierarchy are not considering wielding the axe just yet.
United have now not won for over a month, losing their last three matches to drop out of both the Champions League and the top four of the Premier League.
Inter Milan legend Marco Materazzi feels Jose Mourinho will be the next Manchester United manager and has slammed Chelsea for being ungrateful towards their former boss.
Manchester United suffered a third consecutive defeat on Saturday, and a second straight against a newly promoted team, when going down 2-1 at home to Norwich City.
But Mourinho will have to accept a salary of around £6m a year – now what Van Gaal earns – if he is to take charge at United.
Three weeks ago, senior United figures insisted Van Gaal had the board’s full support, but after a run of six matches without a win, they have now fallen quiet.
A poll on respected fans website Red Issue showed United supporters are overwhelmingly in favour of the 64-year-old being sacked IMMEDIATELY.
Mourinho is a free agent following his sacking by Chelsea and the Portuguese has made it known he would be happy taking over at Old Trafford if a vacancy arises in the near future.
Carlo Ancelotti is on his way to Bayern Munich while Pep Guardiola is seemingly on his way to the blue half of Manchester this summer. He was United’s caretaker manager for four games in 2014 and has been Van Gaal’s assistant since then.
“People at United are happy with Van Gaal and what he’s doing behind the scenes”, he added.
Still, his appointment would represent a change of heart from United and perhaps an illustration of their desperation to get back to the top. “We need to stick together, there’s nothing else you can do”.
“I believe that’s the only way to get out of this bad streak – keep working hard and sooner or later we will get the results that we want”.
And unfortunately for van Gaal, circumstances have conspired to make two of the most desirable managers in the world available at the exact moment he is at his lowest ebb.
