Speed through Jakku with a new The Force Awakens 360 video
Facebook Inc. FB, +1.09% on Wednesday introduced a 360-degree “spherical” video feature in its newsfeed, allowing users to roam around inside the latest “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” trailer.

On Finn’s story in the film: “Finn is dope”.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, meanwhile, arrives in the United Kingdom on December 17.
“When I read the script I cried, and I’m not really a big crier”, the actor said.
Pointing a mobile phone or a tablet in different directions will also change the angle of the video, making it feel more immersive.
LEGO’s new Millenium Falcon (£129.99) has emerged top of the Star Wars toy sales charts, beating the Jedi Master Lightsaber (£49.99) to the top spot.
Even after the Star Wars: The Force Awakens full cast was announced a year ago, just before production got started, Disney and LucasFilm didn’t reveal anything about the new characters. In addition to Ford’s Han Solo, Carrie Fisher returns as Princess Leia, and Mark Hamill reprises his role as Luke Skywalker.
And Boyega said his character was his favorite in the new script, describing him as “quirky and charismatic and funny”.
“I was unleashed into seven months of auditions”. For me, he was the best character in the script.
While it’s impossible for the spoilers to come from director J.J. Abrams, there’s a report claiming that a supposed scene from the film has been leaked online.
The 360-degree video feature will let adequately-equipped publishers do likewise, so long as they are willing to invest in the emerging technologies that facilitate it. In the case of the Star Wars Jakku video, the footage is CGI-based, and so the multiple camera set-up is vertical.
