Discussing Peter Parker’s personality, Daley explained, He’s a sharp kid and witty and kind of deals with the fact that he’s an outcast and a geek through humor.
For a good while we honestly thought that with all the speculation surrounding the new Spider-Man, that we’d never get answers on just who will take on the role of the classic superhero, now that he has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “As well as the superpowers, which we also have”, Daley concluded. “They were never as popular as the other heroes that Stan Lee created back then – Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thor, and such – but Lee always seemed to have a soft spot for Ant-Man, and I did too”.
However, after a lengthy casting process, Marvel have their man in 19-year-old Brit Tom Holland and their director in Jon Watts.
Daley and Goldstein have already handled a lot of reboots, and when asked why they think studios are so keen on rebooting old franchises instead of venturing into other film projects, the two thought that “fear” might have something to do with it. They’re the pair who have directed the incoming reboot of National Lampoon’s Vacation. The real king of Game of Thrones, opened up about the movie, including Paul Rudd’s performance as the titular character, and his lack of love for Marvel movie villains. Specifically, they intend to follow the lead of Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man and make the new Spider-Man movie part action film, part comedy.
The famed Winds of Winter novelist cited the enemies of The Hulk, Spider-Man and Iron Man as his examples in latest entry LiveJournal Not A Blog.
