‘Spider-Man’ Reboot Director Jon Watts Reveals Peter Parker’s Age
The “Spider-Man” reboot movie is scheduled for a July 28, 2017 release and the new Peter Parker is played by Tom Holland.

Luckily director Jon Watts has finally spoken out and set the record straight on what age 19-year-old Tom Holland will have to pretend to be as he puts on the Spidey suit.
“I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high school movie”, he said.
“We’re really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. He’s just 15 now”, director Jon Watts told Empire magazine in issue 317, now on stands. And if you can imagine a 15-year-old, smart aleck kid hanging with Robert Downey Jr. and the Avengers, it might put a smile on your face wide enough to last until then.
But while Holland is a college-aged adult, this version of Peter Parker will have stronger ties to the high school experience.
With this news, we know that besides him already having been Spider-Man for a year, this won’t be another origin story. As for Andrew Garfield, he was 29 when he played a 17-year old Peter in The wonderful Spider-Man (2012), and was 31 when playing an 18-year-old Spider-Man in The incredible Spider-Man 2 (2014). He’s very athletic. He can actually do a backflip!

One thing I do question is if Peter is about 15-years-old in the Spider-Man reboot film, is he also going to be fifteen in Captain America: Civil War? In the big screen adaptation of the massively popular Civil War storyline from the comics Spider-Man is expected to side with the pro-registration team headed by Tony Stark, whom is also expected to create the web slingers famous Red and Blue costume. It will be interesting to discover how the new standalone film will settle within the MCU.
