Jumanji, for those old enough to remember, was this children’s book about a magical board game by Chris Van Allsburg, where survival in the jungle is hardly just a game. The film, originally set to release on July 28, 2017, will now release on July 5, 2017. Sony installing Jumanji in that July 28 slot makes us wonder if they ever planned for the film to meet its original December 25, 2016 release date in the first place. In fact, Holland will be making his big screen debut as Spidey later this year in Captain America: Civil War. Sony’s original Jumanji was released in 1995 with Robin Williams starring and it grossed $262.8 million worldwide.
