Spitzer lawyer says no assault occurred
A 25-year-old Russian woman reportedly accused Elliot Spitzer of choking and pushing her during an argument in his room at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. As for the cut the woman suffered when she was leaving the hotel, sources say it was not serious, and she was treated at a hospital and released.

In reference to the assault claim, Spitzer’s spokeswoman Lisa Linden said: “There is no truth to the allegation”.
The former NY governor who famously resigned after being caught paying for sex with a high-end escort, is now under investigation for assault.
Reports said that Spitzer allegedly attacked the woman at the upscale Plaza Hotel on Fifth Avenue, and police were called twice to the $1,000-a-night suite. So far, Spitzer, 56, has not been charged in the incident. Spitzer’s spokeswoman said the former governor knows the woman but said she is not his girlfriend. He tried a political comeback when he ran for City Comptroller two years ago, but lost to Scott Stringer.
Police were sent to a hotel after the woman called 911 saying she cut her wrist.
Her relationship with Spitzer is not known. Spitzer has not been questioned, sources said.
Spitzer’s lawyer, Adam S. Kaufmann, said the 26-year-old woman had told hospital staff that the former governor had choked her in an attempt to avoid hospitalization for emotional issues.
The alleged incident took place on February 13.
CBS New York reported that at Spitzer’s East Side apartment building Monday morning, the doorman refused to acknowledge the former governor even lives there.
Police followed the blood trail out of the Subway and found Trinidad, who also was taken to a hospital, police said. Following that loss, Spitzer divorced his wife, Silda; and later started dating the spokesperson for his failed campaign.

Spitzer has shied away from the public eye ever since he resigned from office in the midst of a prostitution scandal.
