According to Maisie Williams, the actress who plays Arya Stark, one of the surviving Stark children, Rickon Stark will be featured in the ongoing season.

Game of Thrones airs on Sunday nights in the United States, at 9PM on HBO; and will be simulcast at 2AM on Sky Atlantic in the UK. Things are looking deeply bleak, but we can only pray that Snow intercepts Ramsay in time before poor Rickon meets his maker. At that point, Rickon (Art Parkinson) and Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) had fled Winterfell in the wake of Theon Greyjoy’s ill-fated takeover, and were tromping through the Westerosi countryside in the company of Hodor and Osha (Natalia Tena), the wildling refugee from Mance Ryder’s defunct army who was conscripted into serving the Starks instead. Unlike everyone else, he isn’t a major pawn in the game…of thrones. Yet.

When a fan asked Williams point-blank about whether we’ll see Rickon again this year, she hesitantly answered, “Ye…es. Yes?”

Williams responded: “yes, we will indeed”. Rickon may be offered to Ramsay as a sign of Umber’s fealty.

Rickon is rumoured to be appearing in the next episode, Oathbreaker, the trailer for which shows two representatives from House Umber bringing Ramsay Bolton a “gift” – possibly Rickon. In these visions, we saw the earlier years with young Ned Stark as well as his young Uncle Benjen and Aunt Lyanna in Winterfell.

Any time people have talked about the return of an old character to the show, Game of Thrones fans immediately think of Sandor Clegane, whose reappearance was hinted at in the books and which upcoming guest star Ian McShane has announced at practically every chance he’s gotten. Before going further down the unsafe journey, Bran decides to part ways and sends Rickon to House Umber with Osha for his safety.
