Evidence of this potential error is actually in the tweet itself. Rey does, however, come face-to-sword with Kylo Ren’s lightsaber in the global trailer for The Force Awakens.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters on December 18th, while Star Wars: Episode VIII is slated for release on May 26, 2017. They then began to make wild speculations about Rey possibly taking over from a stricken Finn in the fight scene.
