Sport Chalet gift cards and store credits will continue to be honored in Sport Chalet stores through May 15, 2016.
Rather than cutting back and restructuring the company, there are reports that Sports Authority will be forced to sell everything – effectively the end of the line for the sporting goods giant.
The company, which has two stores in Sarasota County and one in Manatee County, had filed for bankruptcy protection in March, saying it would reorganize and close some 140 of its stores.
The sporting goods retailer is closing all 450 of its stores, according to CNN.
Sports Authority’s announcement comes just weeks after Sport Chalet announced it was closing all its locations, including 2 in Las Vegas.

But now reports say that Sports Authority officials said in USA bankruptcy court that it will not be able to reorganize and will pursue a sale instead.
