Many users of the app are now unable to receive or send any messages through the service, and considering it’s New Year’s Eve, this is leaving those who have been affected a little frustrated.
WhatsApp recently revealed it now has over 900 million people users and this is one of the busiest nights of the year for the service.
The glitch in Whatsapp servers was confirmed by the company and Whatsapp issued a statement.
Users started reporting the outage across social media networks including Facebook and Twitter from Thursday evening. With more than 10 billion messages sent every day, it’s no wonder the people across the globe freaked out when the service went down. “We’re working to restore service back to 100% for everyone and we apologize for the inconvenience”, the app’s spokesperson said.
