Spring like temps and showers expected this week
This includes Lubbock. Highs eventually warm into the middle 70’s for Lubbock although high clouds could keep us cooler. In fact, it’s the coldest we’ve been in over a week! We will not warm up much at all.

The European model does not show this feature, but it hints the pattern could support wet snow or rain late next week, around April 5 or 6. We reached the 50s today due to a stout southerly breeze. It will be breezy overnight with wind gusts as high as 25 miles per hour. High temperatures Tuesday afternoon are forecast at 44 degrees. But until then – be sure to bundle up! Expect highs in the 60-65° range – right where they should be for late March. It will be a lot like today with a little bit more in rain activity expected.
And Arctic front drops across the region Friday or Friday night. Wednesday also will have a chance for precipitation, with a high near 40 degrees, but dropping sharply at night to a high of only 14 degrees. Temps will tank into the 30s early Saturday, before returning to the 50s by Saturday afternoon. It’s fantastic what late March sunshine can do!
Snow totals by early Tuesday morning will range from 1″-3″ across the metro/city with less to the north & east and more to the south & west. However, it’s going to be cold! Right now, snow will taper off during the day Saturday as the arctic high pressure settles right over the state. Maybe Peter Cottontail is best friends with Jack Frost? “We’re hoping any snow we do have will be real quick and very scattered”. We will continue to monitor this and bring you updates through out the week.
The forecast will continue to be fine tuned over the next few days.
