Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note7 Customers Can Get Replacement Devices Beginning Next Week
26 of those are burns and 55 reports of property damages. Samsung had beaten Apple to market with the Note 7 by weeks, and it was drawing favorable reviews before consumers began reporting problems with the battery overheating, resulting in fires and explosions.

One million of the phones fall under the recall notice because of the battery catching fire.
US regulators are issuing an official recall of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 phone because of the risk that its batteries can explode or catch fire.
Then there’s last week, when a California man filed a suit against Samsung alleging that the Galaxy S7 Edge – a larger version of the S7, with a curved screen – exploded and burned him, according to a USA Today report. Kaye said that now that the Consumer Product Safety Commission is involved, the recall procedure should be more streamlined. Samsung expects replacement Note 7s to be available by Wednesday. If you’re not sure if your phone is affected, you can enter the IMEI or serial number at samsung.com/us/note7recall to find out.
You can ask for a replacement or a full refund.
Samsung released the Galaxy Note7 on August 19.
The commission says it will be upgrading its Note 7 recommendation from “power down” to “return”. But those actions drew criticism from Consumer Reports and others who said that the seriousness of the defect merited a formal recall, which would make it illegal to continue selling the phones. A second person told Reuters that Samsung SDI Co Ltd made faulty batteries that triggered the recall, but the company’s representatives could not be immediately reached for comment.

The company stopped all sales and shipments of the Note 7 and said it was working with government agencies and cellular carriers around the world to provide refunds and exchanges for the phone.
