Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been ruled out for four weeks with a hamstring injury, the club have confirmed.

Lloris, 29, could miss Spurs’ next four league games against Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Stoke and Sunderland.

Following further scans and treatment on the French worldwide, the club have announced that Lloris will miss the next month of Premier League football as he recovers from a strained hamstring picked up in Spurs’ opening day 1-1 draw against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Lloris is also set to miss France’s friendly against Italy on September 1 and a World Cup qualifier against Belarus on September 6.

The Dutch worldwide has made just six league appearances since joining from Swansea in 2014.

Spurs supporters will have been heartened by Vorm’s confident display against the Toffees, especially considering his form filling in for Lloris in previous matches.

With links to Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez coming in recent weeks (Mail), the Argentine may be tempted to urge his board to seriously considering bringing in another senior stopper in some capacity, although McGee has made the bench for Spurs in recent season.
