Tottenham are in pole position to sign Moussa Sissoko, with news that Everton have withdrawn their interest in the French worldwide.

Moussa Sissoko has rejected deadline-day claims that he turned down a move to Everton at the last minute in order to push through a switch to Tottenham Hotspur.
That closely followed by RMC in France reporting that Moussa Sissoko has now signed for Spurs on a five year deal.
“I never went to Everton”, Sissoko told L’Equipe.
After Tottenham had seen their £25m offer rejected by Newcastle on Wednesday morning, it looked like Everton were in pole position to sign the midfielder after meeting the Magpies £30m asking price [source: BBC].
The Frenchman, however, has agreed a transfer to Tottenham and is now travelling to England to undergo medical with the North London club ahead of signing a contract with the Spurs. Of course I would have liked it to have happened earlier, but now it’s done. I have played at a World Cup and a Euro. I gave everything for the club but I wanted to play some big games. It’s not surprising at all that Lloris and Sissoko are close friends, and having a good friend on your club team can make a difference, all other things being equal.
“I’m very happy, very proud to be here”, he said on tottenhamhotspur.com. The Ireland worldwide had enjoyed regular football at both Wigan and Everton under his mentor Roberto Martinez who is now managing the Belgian national team. Reports are suggesting that Sissoko could be on the cusp of a move to Tottenham, with Sky Sports sources suggesting Mauricio Pochettino could move to bring the player to White Hart Lane. “But if we are not happy, then he can stay here and I will be really, really pleased to keep him”.

“Sissoko is a great player”, Moshiri said in a statement.
