Spurs midfielder earns first England call-up
The uncapped 21-year-old has been in impressive form for Spurs this term, playing in all but one of the London club’s Premier League games.

Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph has been recalled after he recovered from a hamstring injury.
In-form Leicester striker Jamie Vardy who tops the scoring charts with 11 goals keeps his place and is joined by forwards Harry Kane and captain Wayne Rooney.
The defender signed a new five-year deal to remain with Spurs after transferring from Sporting Lisbon in 2014, per BBC Sport, and his maturity has won him a call up.
The Aston Villa midfielder represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level but chose to switch his allegiance to England five weeks ago.
Theo Walcott, Daniel Sturridge, Jack Wilshere, Luke Shaw, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines are among the main casualties, but Hodgson is not anxious about being without a raft of his best players before Euro 2016. There’s not a lot of those players available to us.
Vardy is the Premier League’s 11-goal top scorer and wants to play through the middle after his two starts for England so far came on the wing.
Hodgson has included Tottenham youngsters Eric Dier and Dele Alli in his squad for the upcoming friendlies after being impressed with both midfielders’ performances this campaign.
England travel to face Spain in Alicante on Friday, November 13 and then host France at Wembley on Tuesday, November 17.
Hodgson added: “I would be lying if I didn’t say I was surprised, pleasantly surprised”. We are more blessed in having forward players or forward-looking players.

“I’m sure he’ll have a period in his career, especially now that he’s as recognised and as respected as he is, where things don’t go quite so well for him”, Hodgson said. Delph, who played just nine minutes in City’s midweek clash after missing more than two months with injury has been named in the squad. When I thought of the group in June and what is it going to look like in October, there would have been six or seven who would have been with us. ‘It is a very embryonic idea, but it will give people around the country a chance to see us play, and us the chance to interact with a few communities’.
