Sergio Aguero is keen to continue his hot streak against Tottenham in order to get Manchester City’s Premier League title bid back on track. The fact that everyone in the Tottenham line-up has performed well recently means Eriksen’s contributions haven’t been highlighted as much, which is definitely a good thing for the team.

“We try this week to work very hard and be focused, we can prove that we are happy in the way the team played”.

Tottenham’s squad is the youngest in the division, with an average age of just 23.9. Flores has a good, competitive team but they were rendered irrelevant by the intensity of Spurs’ play.

Levy also confirmed that McDermott was now in charge of all teams below the first team, including U21s, and had an input on transfers, while the chairman refused to elaborate on whether Pochettino would be handed a new contract.

Tottenham MP David Lammy regaled the Spurs Show podcast of a story about a discussion with the legendary United manager during which he revealed his admiration for Pochettino. Arsène Wenger and Claudio Ranieri are also in their sixties. Naturally a centre back, Pochettino has converted him into a comfortable deep lying midfielder. “Football is sometimes a unusual combination”, he said.

There must also be a desire on Pochettino’s part to see through the project he has started.

“We try for long-term fitness in our plan from the pre-season, to try to provide the tools to the players to be consistent during the whole season”. They are a very tight triumvirate.

“I’m not sure why I’ve scored so many goals against Spurs, it’s just happened that way”. The under 21 leagues don’t give you the experience that you need of the English game.
