Square Enix Alters The Final Fantasy XV Weapon System

Although, Square Enix didn’t provide an exact date for the release the fact that they said it will be out in 2016 seemed to pacify most fans.

Final Fantasy XV is very much a work in progress at the moment, evidently because it is still in development, and Tabata’s incremental improvements have really shined a light into how Square Enix tweaks its games into perfection.

Those who delved deep into Episode Duscae will also note that the “Counter” and “Raid” attacks will be executed based on the weapon now equipped, but players can set a specific weapon to use for those attacks in the customization menu of the game.

Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae is still being played by the Square Enix faithful, and it is still providing Square Enix with important feedback on how to tweak little problems here and there, making a better game in the process.

And it all starts with one new feature – being able to switch weapons yourself during a battle. According to a Japanese RPG forum post (translated by Nova Crystallis), the final game won’t see players automatically switching between weapons as they chain attacks together.

The real-time weapon switching system is a system that will allow you to switch between four main weapons.

So instead of setting weapons for each of Break, Rush, and Slash, the new system will offer more options for you to change things up while pulling off combos.

Final Fantasy XV is due to come out for the Xbox One and the PS4 sometime in 2016. They were also present at the 2015 Tokyo Game Show’s press conference in September but they didn’t say anything about when the game will be released.
