Sri Lanka bat first in third ODI
Announcing the decision during the ongoing series with Australia, Dilshan confirmed he will play his final ODI at Dambulla on Sunday and his last T20 global at Colombo on September 9, both against the ODI World Champions.

Left-arm spinner Amila Aponso claimed four wickets while medium-pacer Thisara Perera took three wickets to choke the Australian run chase. Australia lost all three Tests in turning conditions, and will face much of the same early next year they will travel to India for four Tests.
Australia: David Warner (captain), Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, George Bailey, Travis Head, Matthew Wade (wk), James Faulkner, Mitchell Starc, John Hastings, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood.
Left-arm spinner Amila Aponso was the pick of the Sri Lankan bowler, claiming 4/18 in his second one-day worldwide.
It was the third-wicket stand of Mendis and Chandimal that got the hosts, and the Colombo crowd, really going.
Sri Lanka vs Australia 3rd ODI is set to begin at 2.30 p.m. local time (2.30 p.m. IST, 10 a.m. BST, 7 p.m. AEDT). Faulkner trapped Perera lbw with the final delivery of his eighth over.
Smith’s replacement Warner has not captained Australia in any format, and now takes charge in a tour in which he has been in indifferent form.
Smith flew home after Australia’s 82-run defeat in the second ODI of their five-match series, with national selectors opting to rest their captain.
‘The schedule is very busy.
“I wish Starc continues to play good cricket and I wish him more success in life”, Saqlain added. “The damage was probably already done at that point of time”, said Smith.
“I together with my committee wish to extent our honest appreciation and wish him the very best in his future endeavors”.
Then came the announcement that captain Steve Smith would return home mid-series in order to rest ahead of the upcoming ODI tour of South Africa and home summer. They would not put it in such strong terms, but Sri Lanka do not rate David Warner against offspin – at least not at the beginning of his innings.
“Nathan had been experiencing a gradual increase in lower back pain which is now preventing him from bowling at match intensity”, Australia physiotherapist David Beakley said.
