Top seeds P V Sindhu and K Srikanth notched up contrasting victories to advance to the third round of the United States dollars 120,000 Indonesia Masters Grand Prix Gold tournament on Thursday.

9 will take on Indonesia’s Ginting Anthony in the semifinals with the latter having a 1-0 advantage in career matches over the Indian.

Two-time bronze medallist at World Championships, Sindhu, who clinched the Macau Open Grand Prix Gold last week, suffered an unexpected 21-23, 13-21 loss against He Bingjiao of China in 36 minutes.

The Quarter-final clash against Zhi Soo proved to be a comfortable outing for the top-seeded Indian as he took home the match with a score of 21-10, 21-5.

Srikanth dished out a superb game of badminton as he didn’t allow any chance to Teck to challenge his authority.

Sindhu will face Chinese youngster HE Bingjiao in the quarterfinals on Friday. That forced the Hyderabadi to change gears and he sealed the game by taking nine points in a row.
