Mr Vijayvargiya had said that although “Shah Rukh lives in India, his soul is in Pakistan”.

But BJP MP and popular Bhojpuri singer-actor Manoj Tiwari said Shah Rukh Khan had always been close to the Congress and had made his statement amid the ongoing Bihar assembly elections.
On Wednesday, BJP lawmaker Yogi Adityanath accused the film star of “treason” and compared him with militants after Shahrukh commented on extreme intolerance in India. “I think there is no difference in the language of Shah Rukh Khan and Hafiz Saeed”, said Adityanath.
Veteran actor Anupam Kher, who had criticised the filmmakers returning their awards to protest “rising intolerance” in the country, is set to lead a tolerance debate march to the President’s house to counter it.
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is celebrating his 50th birthday today, said he is ready to give up his awards as a symbolic gesture against the increasing intolerance in the country, India TV reported on Wednesday.
“Shah Rukh is an artist and targeting him only because he is a Muslim is not right”, the Sena said in an editorial in its mouthpiece “Saamana”. “There is no country safer for Muslims than India and there are no neighbours better than Hindus”, he said.
Tiwari also said if the Bollywood actor wants to make such political remarks then he should join politics.
“Shah Rukh comes from a family of freedom fighters. Are they trying to promote Pakistan tourism?”, asked Vadakkan.
The party’s actions are only a reflection of the sentiments of people, it said.
“It is unfortunate. Each person is free in the country to express his or her view”.
Earlier, Union minister Prakash Javadekar had condemned Vijarvargiya’s comments, making it clear that the party did not approve of them.

Vijayvargiya is the latest BJP leader to shoot off his mouth despite repeated injunctions from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah that loose comments must be avoided.
