SsangYong going to Geneva with SIV-2 concept
The Ssangyong Tivoli XLV exterior was previewed by the XLV concept a model nearly a year ago at the same venue.

The teaser was for the new concept that they will be showing off at the Geneva Motor Show, called the SIV-2 Concept, the model will be coming in as a mid-size premium SUV that will be sitting about the Tivoli crossover model.
Featuring the same platform and 2,600mm wheelbase as the Tivoli, the XLV gets a lengthened body from behind the C pillar. That extra length means the Tivoli XLV will boast a huge 720-litre boot, although there’s no word as yet whether it’ll be offered with two extra seats, for a total of seven.
The concept will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year and we will get to know about it then.
Ssangyong says the Tivoli XLV “provides the versatility needed to meet a wide range of individual lifestyles”.
With such similar characteristics to the auto that spawned it, SsangYong will be hoping that the XLV inherits its not-as-ugly-as-you-might-think abilities as well.
Powertrain options will include the same 1.6-litre diesel and petrol engines already offered in the Tivoli, coupled to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

A development of the original SIV-1 show vehicle from 2013, the SIV-2 still wears SsangYong’s latest styling language, but appears to have a slightly more angular design, with more production-ready bumpers and wheels. This engine is augmented by a 10kW electric motor that’s fed by a 500Wh lithium-ion battery.
