The 2016 Hollywood awards season officially kicked off last night with the People’s Choice Awards. Vin Diesel accepts the award for favourite movie at the People’s Choice Awards.

“You ain’t gonna pull no Steve Harvey up in here, no sir” she cried, referencing the presenter who caused controversy when he announced the wrong victor at the Miss Universe competition.
As the show began, the high-hitters on the winning list were Taylor Swift, Kevin Hart, The Big Bang Theory, and Furious 7. Her speech was prefaced with a heartwarming highlight reel of DeGeneres’ most memorable viewer giveaways.
Diesel honored the late Paul Walker as he picked up the trophies for Best Movie and Best Action Movie.

Victor for the Favorite Streaming Series this year was Orange Is the New Black and The Simpsons got chosen as the Favorite Animated TV Show. “This is incredible! I think we think of ourselves as the oddballs of TV or we say we’re like a Motley Crue…” she added before the mystery man jumped up on stage. The red carpet standouts included Kate Hudson in a white romper and the women of “Grease Live” and “Pretty Little Liars“, who both looked fashion-forward in their dark designer duds. “Just proof of love.’ I don’t know if it was from the Bible or an Instagram, but either way it’s powerful”.
