Like Mr Stalin, other members of the DMK were removed forcibly from the building after they protested against what they described as “disrespectful remarks” against him by a member of the ruling AIADMK party.

All 89 DMK Member evicted, suspended from Tamil Nadu Assembly too: All 89 MLA of DMK Party in Tamil Nadu who attended the Legislative Assembly session on Wednesday were suspended and evicted a masse from the Assembly House.
Tamil Nadu’s Finance Minister, O Panneerselvam moved a motion in the assembly to suspend the DMK MLAs.
The DMK MLAs objected to a remark by an AIADMK MLA Gunasekaran, who made a snide remark about Stalin’s “Namakku Naame” campaign.
This came after all 89 MLAs belonging to the DMK, the main opposition in Tamil Nadu were suspended for a week by the Speaker of the Assembly, P Dhanpal after they created a ruckus in the House.
Nammakku Naame was the name given to Stalin’s state-wide tour before the elections.
At one point, Stalin himself rose and said he was proud that Namakku Naamme had featured in an assembly debate.
According to a report in The Hindu, the eviction took place after a commotion over a mocking remark made by an AIADMK legislator on MK Stalin’s Nammaku Naame road show. Since the DMK members did not heed his repeated pleas, he summoned the marshals to evict the agitating MLAs. The Speaker requested the DMK members to sit down and co-operate for the conduct of the House proceedings.
“Though we have boycotted the Assembly proceedings following disagreements with the Speaker on a few occasions, we had shortly thereafter returned to the House to participate in the debates”.

“Opposition members need to be treated with respect and decorum, these are people’s elected representatives”, said DMK spokesperson Manu Raj Sundaram.
