Stand-up India action plan to be launched on January 16
Aziz made a policy statement in the Senate regarding the short visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Pakistan on December 25.

Sartaj Aziz said except reaction from some quarters in India the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been welcomed by majority of the people in the two countries as well as the worldwide community.
Sena leaders said that such “objectionable steps raise question on country’s image and credibility”. A source present during the meeting said the leaders of the nuclear-armed nations “chatted like old friends” as they ate vegetarian food.
The comprehensive dialogue between Pakistan and India will eventually focus on all outstanding issues including Jammu and Kashmir, he maintained. This has quite naturally generated a new hops among the people of Kashmir who see something positive for them if the Modi-Nawaz peace plan succeeds.
