Police told Fox 21 at least three police officers are injured in a shooting near Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs.
It’s unclear if there have been any fatalities, and the total number of victims remains unclear.
More than two hours later, the gunman shot and injured a fourth officer in another exchange with police inside the clinic, Buckley said.
Beaubien also confirmed that the shooting did take place from inside the building that houses the Planned Parenthood clinic.
Although there are other buildings in the area, the shooter only went inside the clinic and remains there.
Police were able to get inside of the building and got the shooter to surrender. Some officials described the main weapon as a “long gun”.
“She was telling me to take care of her babies because she could get killed”, Mr Motolinia said of the mother of three.
Joan Motolinia said his sister, Jennifer, was trapped inside the clinic and hiding behind a table from someone shooting inside the building when she called him. Lt. Buckley would not say how many people were wounded.
Local TV station KKTV said an “unknown amount of other victims” were rushed to nearby Memorial hospital but their conditions are unknown.
One officer hit in the shooting is doing fine and did not require surgery, according to a family member.
“Put gunfire through the walls”, another officer responded.
Police are evacuating the Planned Parenthood building where there is a standoff with a gunman.
There are no immediate details about the injuries suffered by those who were sent to hospital, but some witnesses report hearing at least 10 gunshots at the facility.

And police sergeant Kevin Miyakusu told CNN that officers “don’t know if there are any hostages”, adding: “It is an ongoing situation”.
