Star-crossed lovers: 8 signs that Han Solo was never right for Leia

Well, it looks like the Force was definitely with Harrison Ford’s agent. Ford had notoriously been uninterested in returning to the franchise that made him a star, so if it took certain elements of the script (spoiler) and a massive payday to get him there, I think we can probably agree it was the right move. The 73-year-old actor received somewhere between $15 to $20 million for his role, according to Variety.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” box office collections: A Disney source noted that Harrison Ford, the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” star, who is the key to making “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” movie work, is the link between the old generation and the new. The new flick brought numerous heroes from the original trilogy back to the screen, and while the force may be strongest with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), it’s Han Solo (Harrison Ford) who’s wallet is full. Boyega and Ridley are relatively new to larger films.

The cited salaries are prior to box office bonuses, but those won’t kick in until the film crosses the hallowed $1 billion line worldwide, according to Variety.
