Star Trek (2017) TV Series Teaser Trailer Released
Granted, there wasn’t much information in the trailer itself, but we can rest assured that there will be new crews, villains, heroes and worlds in the 2017 show. The third installment in the series (Star Trek: Beyond) will release this year.

Fortunately, fans don’t have to wait until January for more Star Trek, as Star Trek Beyond hits theaters July 22, 2016. But the trailer does promise “New crews”.
Digital Trends reports rumors that the new Star Trek might actually be an anthology-type series with each season following a new set of characters and plot.
However, the fun doesn’t stop after Star Trek Beyond is released, because in 2017 CBS will be unveiling the first new Star Trek TV show since Enterprise ended over a decade ago in 2005.
Bryan Fuller has been hired as showrunner for the series, while Alex Kurtzman, producer and co-writer of the 2009 reboot movie Star Trek and its 2013 sequel Star Trek Into Darkness, will serve as an executive producer alongside him. Each season would occur at different points along the Star Trek timeline.
Earlier this month it was reported that the show would start production in the fall, and will shoot in Toronto, Canada. Though there have been unconfirmed rumours that it will be set between the events of Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country and Star Trek: The Next Generation. The series will be distributed exclusively on CBS’s All Access online platform, although the network plans to air some episodes on the CBS linear channel in order to promote the internet-based service.

The Mirror Universe would reappear in both Star Trek: Enterprise and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, the latter of which dealt with the political aftermath of Kirk’s original incursion.
