Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin ‘left no will’

In the wrongful-death suit filed Tuesday, Victor and Irina Yelchin claim that the gear selector in Yelchin’s Jeep was defective, leading to Yelchin’s death.

At the press conference held today, Victor Yelchin told reporters, “With unbelievable grief, we chose to come here to prevent other families with the same tragedy”.

“To all of you who have sent flowers and gifts, for your condolences and kind words and to all who came to celebrate the life our. son, Anton”.

Variety reports a recall notice was mailed to Yelchin seven days after his death, according to the family’s attorney.

As the Inquisitr stated, Fiat Chrysler is the company that makes the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which rolled down Yelchin’s driveway and pinned the actor against his security gate and a pillar.

Now Irina and Victor Yelchin have confirmed they are suing the manufacturer for punitive damages, stating that the vehicle’s “significant defects” caused Anton’s death.

Drivers of the Jeep under recall have complained that they had trouble telling whether they put the transmission in “park” after stopping. “There’s been no ‘we’re sorry for your loss.’ They hired their experts and it looks like they’re prepared to fight”.

Fiat Chrysler has said it is speeding up its recall of the vehicle. In April, the company announced it would voluntarily recall about 1.1 million of the cars, including many 2012-14 Dodge Chargers, 2012-14 Chryslers 300s, and 2014-15 Jeep Grand Cherokees.

As of late June, the NHTSA was aware of some 700 complaints regarding the issue, including 266 crashes and 68 injuries. The family attorney has said it appeared that Yelchin returned to his house to get something, which is why he was outside of the auto while it was running. “The safety recall was way too little and way too late”, Dordick added.

“In a statement, Fiat Chrysler said it had yet to be served with the lawsuit and could not comment extensively about it”.

The parents also filed probate papers in order to control their son’s estate since he had no will. “But now he’s very special because his life is going to save some other lives”.

Star Trek star Anton Yelchin’s parents have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against bosses at Fiat-Chrysler.

Anton Yelchin left behind several unreleased projects, including the Netflix animated series “Trollhunters” and four films.

Drivers may inadvertently fail to achieve the “PARK” position before exiting the vehicle.

The actor was the Yelchins’ only son, and they filed on Friday to oversee his estate, which is valued at almost £1.05m.
