Bryan Fuller will headline the new streaming iteration of Star Trek as co-creator and executive producer, while Wrath of Khan director Nicholas Meyer has also joined alongside Gene Roddenberry’s son Rod.

With just a few weeks to go before the 13th Star Trek film, Star Trek Beyond, finally hits theaters, Paramount is starting to ramp up publicity. He’s come a long way since we met this version of him in 2009’s Star Trek, diverted onto a different course due to the timeline changes from Spock Prime’s arrival. In his eyes, the interstellar organization isn’t the force for good that most people think they are, and he won’t be afraid to get his hands dirty in order to see his own political agenda fulfilled.
The villain of the film is not a fan of the Federation, and Lin “wanted the character to have a very specific and valid philosophy and point of view”. For me it was important because this film would not exist without this character. “So far we’ve been having a lot of fun doing that”. “Action to me is no fun if it’s not built around character”, said Lin.
“I felt like I’ve had years and years as a fan, as a kid kinda growing up watching the TV show, I wanted to really kind of explore the five-year journey, and also to kind of explore all the relationships”. “It’s because this journey, whatever happens, whatever causes this to happen, whatever our characters do to try to counter it somehow organically creates that”.
