Star Trek Beyond returns to the eternal love story between Kirk and Spock, with McCoy as wry commentator and Uhura temporarily cast aside.

It was billed as the first-ever outdoor IMAX premiere event, and included a performance by the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. Overall Star Trek Beyond got a great response from the audience and will going to hit the box office by its huge collection.
This third big-budget, action-driven instalment of the rebooted Star Trek series sees the crew of the USS Enterprise ambushed by a mysterious enemy while undertaking a rescue mission.
Abrams has already made up his mind to retire the character – Pavel Chekov, played by Anton Yelchin in the movie Star Trek, and declared that the character will never be recasted or replaced by any other.
Abrams added: “There is something missing tonight, there is someone missing tonight”. “Anton’s parents are here – Irina and Victor”.
“Anton Yelchin should be here”, JJ continued.
Abrams, who directed the first two films of the rebooted franchise, and cast members wore black Star Trek pins on their lapels to honor 27-year-old Yelchin, who died when his vehicle accidentally rolled backward and pinned him against a fence. It was a bold choice, considering how much the studio has invested in “Star Trek”, but one that proved to be right on the money as Lin’s movie brings some much needed energy to the franchise.
Star Trek Beyond opens Friday, and viewers are likely to mourn when they see the sage visage of Leonard Nimoy (Ambassador Spock), who died a year ago after a long and rewarding career as actor and director.
Speaking to WENN at the movie’s United Kingdom premiere last week (end15Jul16), Spock actor Zachary Quinto said, “Losing Anton is unthinkable for all of us and I think it brought us closer together through the bonding of grieving his loss”.
“I just want to take a moment to honor him, to acknowledge him, to celebrate him and to love him”. This works because it gives all the characters plenty of screen time, so it no longer feels like the Kirk and Spock bromance show.
