Clifton Park, NY – Shmaltz Brewing Company boldly goes to Comic-Con International with a unique Collector’s Edition 50th Anniversary Release commemorating Star Trek 50: The Trouble With Tribbles.
“Star Trek Beyond” actor-screenwriter Simon Pegg defended the choice in a statement and said the filmmakers wanted an LGBT character to be “someone we already knew because the audience has a pre-existing opinion of that character as a human being, unaffected by any prejudice”.
Then Pegg revealed that Jaylah was named after a famous Oscar winning actress. He talked about how “Star Trek” can inspire young people to discover new frontiers in technology and space exploration, and chatted about the Juno probe’s recent arrival in the Jupiter system.

The only thing he wishes is that the writers hadn’t tampered with Gene Roddenberry’s original character.
Takei said that he was “flattered” that the Sulu decision was an homage to his own LGBT activism, and asserted his remarks were just “about being true to Gene’s vision and storytelling”.
We’ll have more on Star Trek Beyond next week, including our interview with John Cho (Sulu). “We want to understand why he has such a beef with the Federation”, he said. SGCome on, I want to know what the reviews said…
