Recently it seems that the entertainment universe has been beaming up all things Star Trek. So, J.J. Abrams, if you’re reading this, you definitely have a good casting option! Even with its big-screen pyrotechnics and its feature-length running time, “Star Trek Beyond” plays like an extended version of one of the better episodes from the original series, and I mean that in the best possible way. He had music projects, photography projects, he was going to direct his first film this summer, he was just spectacularly interested in life in a really great way. That would be Pegg, who clearly understood the need to set this adventure in medias res, as feeling like these characters have served together for years endows their interactions with more meaning.
