‘Star Trek’ fans will like these sci-fi Facebook reaction buttons
Today, after five decades of living long and prospering, Facebook is honoring the 50th anniversary of the series with a custom set of reaction buttons. To commemorate the occasion, Facebook has chose to come up with custom reactions as a tribute. Star Trek the Original Series Season 2 Episode 15 ‘ The Trouble With Tribbles ‘ Pictured: William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk burried in Tribbles. “Love” has been turned into a Vulcan split-finger greeting, the “Haha” face has a Captain Kirk hairdo (sadly there is not enough detail to imply a toupee), “Wow” gets the Spock treatment, “Sad” looks like Geordi La Forge from The Next Generation and “Angry” has the ridged brow of a Klingon.

IDW Publishing, the comic book home of Star Trek, is bringing a contingent of people along to tonight’s Star Trek: Mission New York panel to talk about the Trek Universe, probably introduce some special guests, and make a major announcement of some sort.
According to Shepard, the social media giant wanted to stay true to the “original design and spirit of Reactions” while making sure the characters were clearly identifiable for fans. The “Star Trek” reactions appear temporary, although Shepard did hint that it’s not the last time Facebook plans to do something like this. We may test experiences like this in the future, and will focus on community and moment-driven events like this one.
Facebook played with a similar themed buttons on Mother’s Day this year by adding in a flower.
